Bio
Kara McVey was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Comparative Literary Studies from Occidental College and her Master's Degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University. This is her 3rd year teaching 7th grade Humanities at New LA. She is passionate about creating safe and supportive spaces for students, helping students to overcome challenges, and fostering learners to be the best readers, writers, and creative thinkers they can be! In her free time, Ms. McVey loves hiking, watching old movies, and listening to nonfiction podcasts.
